Micro Update



I released a HUGE update yesterday, but after playing it a little bit, I decided there were a few things I wanted to fix, and I was able to fix up in a few hours, for this LITTLE update.

  • Jumping is now more effective for evasion. Enemies are significantly less likely to hit you after you jump.
  • Bullets and other projectiles now effectively treat terrain blocks as being 1/2 block shorter than creatures, so you're less likely to hit a terrain block when trying to shoot at a creature at a lower elevation.
  • Reduced number of warp gen facilities. I felt that giving monsters ownership of 3 warp gen facilities wasn't a good idea, since warp gen facilities are valuable, and the monsters are currently way too easy when guarding these facilities.
  • Added armored charge to a few attacks.
  • Tweaked a few item values, including making beans no longer crush-able (why would you want to crush your money, anyways? That's not what it's for). Reduced crush yield of cells, since they gave more iron than they even costed to synthesize.
  • Made creatures become hostile sooner underground and in structure zones. While I made creatures not target an enemy (like you) as soon as they see them in order to prevent the player from being overwhelmed in the overworld, you shouldn't be able to get free hits underground or in the larger warp-gen facilities with a long-ranged rifle.

I think these tweaks make the game funner, although some do make it more difficult. Perhaps it's unfair, since I have more experience playing the game than anyone else, but I don't like how quickly I can become overpowered. But I will need more changes in the future to pace the game better.

I have big and exciting plans for the next update, but since I'm starting college classes again, it might be some time . . .
